About Raise Your Phase

My name is Torrey and I created Raise Your Phase as a way to share things I have learned through reading, podcasts, and other people’s thoughts. Growing up, I was not the most confident kid which resulted in being very shy and reserved. Just like the video games I loved to play, I slowly gained experience as I progressed through life and started to level up along the way.

I noticed how people I admired operated and tried to follow in their footsteps. It wasn’t until I discovered podcasts that I really started to make big leaps in personal development. Instead of picking up new ways of thinking once in a while, I was now able to listen to more knowledge and insights daily. These podcasts introduced me to authors and books that allowed me to go deeper on subjects that interested me.

I learned about phase changes in chemistry class while on my journey to become a Physician Assistant/Associate. I found it interesting that a substance can be in a specific form but when enough energy was applied or removed it would completely change its physical nature. The idea that 1° of temperature change can make such a dramatic difference has stuck with me since.

If you’re someone who is interested in personal development, you have probably heard the idea to “be 1% better than the previous day.” The idea is that over time, small changes can lead to big results. The biggest wins that I’ve had in my life did not happen overnight. They occurred like water over a flame. No change from one second to the next until all of a sudden the water is boiling and becomes steam.

The biggest takeaway for me with positive change is that it occurs faster when you are intentional in its pursuit. I hope everyone finds some valuable insights that can be the fire under your kettle and help Raise Your Phase!!
